Please help. I’m very confused. I do take in daily doses of insulin but with an inhaler. If I do have neither type 1 or type 2 diabetes, but some other form… Could I get type 1 or 2 in the future?

My partner has had Type 1 since he was 8 years old (he is now 24). My sister was diagnosed at 16. My partner was breastfed until he was two, my sister until she was a year and a half.
Both were fed nothing but healthy foods and were made to join some form of sport.
In short, both were raised “right”. Could this have contributed to having an over-active immune system?

I’ve been told that they would tell if you’re hypo or hyperglycemic but I don’t understand that because isn’t type 2 DM when you have high blood glucose levels? Where does the hypoglycemic part come in?
