Question posed by Edward: Type II Diabetes medication and diet?
How does Chromium Picolinate (200mg) and Alpha Lipoic Acid (600mg) help Type II Diabetes patients? When should these be taken? Should they be taken every day? How does one combine it with daily 1 X Glibenclamide 5mg and 1 x Metformin Hydrochloride 850mg? What is the diet recommended? It is suggested to take food 6 times instead of three? What does this mean?

these two didn’t help me , but give it a try. Chromium Picolinate (200mg) and Alpha Lipoic Acid (600mg)
As for the rest of you regimen , here’s the inside scoop.
There are 4 key steps to controlling glucose levels.
Here are the 4 keys:
1) Knowledge- http://www.phlaunt.com/diabetes/index.ph… This is a great site for info
2) Meds. Metformin to start. Never , ever take Actos or Avandia. They may kill you. Bone fractures, heart problems and what diabetics really don’t need is that they change Bone Stem Cells to Fat Cells.
3)diet- A low carb diet is in order. I can’t count carbs so I use Mendosa’s Glycemic Index Diet. Great for the whole family. http://www.mendosa.com/gilists.htm
4) EXERCISE- Walking is fine but Nordic Walking is Great. Exercise also lowers Glucose levels , lowers Cholesterol and lowers Blood Pressure. Google it.
Don’t forget the exercise. With the above you may also , one day , if you do the exercise daily, be able to come of some of your diabetic Medicines.
Do it , it works.
Good luck , take care

What are the most popular medications for diabetes, in terms of recent sales, number of patients, or some similar measure? I am interested in data for both oral medications, insulins, and other types of medication. The purpose of the question is to find out which meds out of those available are the most used and the most popular at the present time. I am not looking for treatment advice, and I am not looking for the names of just one or two medications. Thanks!
I am 56 years old, currently on medication for hypertension and diabetes. Still working, but work is rather stressful and thought of resigning. Any advice?
Type 2 diabetics usually require medication to regulate the disease. But the plethora of choices can be overwhelming!Watch More Health Videos at Health Guru: www.healthguru.com
Hi everyone.
My boss just found out her 16 year old daughter has type 1 diabetes. We were all very sad to hear the news. Apparently she will be taking medication everyday for the rest of her life and she has a strict diet to follow. What’s the difference between type 1 and type 2? Also, do people with diabetes have a tendency to be thin and lose a lot of weight because of their diet? Apparently before she was diagnosed, she lost 10 pounds within a month.
Thanks!
Medication only extends the periods between episodes and *maybe* makes them milder. Very few end up with no symptoms for life.
FYI: I am med compliant and have no intention of ever not being. Please DO NOT tell me that you are impressed. It’s insulting. I wouldn’t tell someone with diabetes, gee it’s wonderful you take your insulin.
