I know that carbohydrate will be converted to glycogen (sugar) and stored in body. For this reason, if I eat a lot of carbohydrate, ie. the food groups at the base of Pyramid Food Guide, will I possibly increase sugar for myself? ANd consequently, will I have diabetes because of high-carb diet?
: I eat a lot of high-sugar fruits too though, eg, grapes, tangerine, pears, apple. My diet is low around 1,200-1,500 calorie and my eating habit is irregular.

And if I exercise regularly, will my sugar decrease due to burning of energy for use during exercise?

I have type 1 diabetes and I’m wanting to gain more from lifting weights. I have heard that consuming a lot of protein is not good for your kidneys. Diabetes is also hard on your kidneys. I’m wondering if there is a specific amount of protein that is safe for me to consume with my workouts. How much protein should I consume each day, and how much should I consume before and after my workout if I want to aid muscle building, but at the same time, not harm my kidneys?

okay, that sounds like i want diabetes. I DO NOT want diabetes! I just have been eating a lot of sweets and am trying to cut down the sweets-intake. i’m at a healthy weight range, etc. but i know that even super skinny people can get diabetes. so just wondering, am i in danger? How many sweets until it could be that i have diabetes?

My sister has type 1 diabetes, and she told me that I have a good chance of getting it too because our great grandfather and his mother had diabetes. A lot of other people in my family have it, on my mom’s side. What are my chances of getting Type 1 diabetes?
