Question by jaemers24: Have you ever LOST pounds while pregnant on a gestational diabetes diet?
I just want to know if controlling my blood sugar and caloric intakeand not gaining weight while pregnant is still ok for my baby?
I am looking for personal experiences here, I’ve had three kids and this is my first case of diabetes-so please refrain from “ask your doctor” responses, I already know what my doc has to say.

I had it with my first baby and I only gained three pounds the whole last trimester. Everything was fine. She came two weeks early and weighed 6 lbs, 5 oz, so if she’d gone to term she’d have been right around 7. I lost all my pregnancy weight within 10 days, which was great. I was nursing and starving all the time and ate all the time, but it all worked out great. BTW, I REALLY stuck to the diet because I was so worried about a C-section. Good luck!

I lost 3 lbs in 4 days & this seems weird to me being 30 weeks pregnant. Did anyone lose weight while doing this diet?

I have pcos and am on metformin. I gained some weight recently and my blood sugar was high so I was put on metformin. I lost the weight and now my blood sugar is fine. I am still afraid of getting diabetes and was wondering if I am diagnosed with diabetes and I get my sugar level to drop to normal, then I won’t have diabetes anymore right? I am confused about this.

World_Explorer asked: If an insulin dependent diabetic gets stranded in a remote part of the world – and the insulin supply is lost/destroyed – and with no medical facilities nearby – what items/foods/devices can be used/rigged to survive?
Please do NOT quote text-book answers/definitions about how the body works. This requires workable “possibilities” as answers.
ie. Creative-logic is required.
Thanks.
