I also had gestational diabetes, but I only gained about 30 pounds throughout my pregnancy. You can see if your hospital has a class to take. I took one and it helped a lot. They can teach you about what to eat to control your blood sugar. If you have only gained 15 pounds by now, that isn't too bad. Don't stress about it though, just eat healthy and your baby should be fine. I had a very healthy baby girl.

After I found out I had gestational diabetes and was put on a low-carb diet, I lost a bunch of weight. Or rather, I stayed the same weight but more of it was baby and less of it was me.

So don't stress, you'll be OK. The good thing is that you got tested and if you do have it, then you'll treat it and your baby will be totally fine.

I had the same thing. I was told not to have any more babies, unless I wanted to GIVE MYSELF diabetes.
Cut out sugars/grease. Exercise and stay active(walking is great!) Think of something to do at night besides eat.

I had gestational diabetes with both of my boys. Before I found out that I had diabetes with my first son, I too gained 10 lbs in 1 month. I asked my dr. about it and she said it is more than likely water weight. After I had my son that 10 lbs went away and then another 10 lbs after I was off my period.

I truly think that it was water weight. Don't worry about the weight, it all goes away in due time.

Don't beat yourself up. It could be that you inherited gestational diabetes and nothing you can do can prevent it. I've seen people eat the healthiest diet never missing a prenatal have gd and then people who eat McDonalds every day have low sugar. It's crazy!

Don't be scared. If it can't be controlled by diet (depending on how high it is) it can be controlled through meds. I know it sounds terrible, but the risk to you and baby otherwise is much worse.

There's more relation to preeclampsia and large weight gain, but right now you're doing fine!

Gaining weight is just a part of pregnancy. While it's scary to think about, your body is doing what it should be doing. Your doctor is monitoring SO many aspects of your health (getting tired of ****** in the cup yet?) and if your doctor isn't worried, you shouldn't be.

And the heartrate is fine. :-)
