i was a diabetic for 26 tears i will give you a list off how it effected me-
38 lazier surgeries on my eyes
cataract removed from both eyes
hysterectomy at 27
total kidney failure at 30
dialysis for 3 years
double transplant at 33
left leg amputated at 34.
even after i am longer a diabetic i still have a lot of damage that will never repair itself. i did not take good care of myself. i did everything my parents told me not to do. it is almost 5 years since my transplant and things are a lot better but i still have an artificial leg i use.

You can have all kinds of complications even with it under control. Your immune system is compromised and leaves you open to infections and slow healing. Some illnesses can be fatal because of the compromised immune system. Uncontrolled or poorly controlled blood sugar can cause many things. Ulcers, amputations, kidney failure, blindness, more prone to stroke and heart attack and ultimately death.

anything from a-z,from head to toes can go wrong and usually will,eventually…depends on how well the diabetes is controlled…….

High blood sugars(.200) have the efect over time of destroying the ultra small capillaries that carry blood. This leads to kidney disease, peripheal neuropathy(cant feel feet) blindness, and high blood pressure.
