is it possible to have diabetes if i have low blood sugar or is diabetes only found in people with low sugar?
im 16 years old and for the past couple years, ive been having faint spells where i feel really dizzy at first, then my vision gets really blurry, i become unconscious for a few seconds and i dont know what is happening around me. i have low blood sugar and my blood pressure is a little low. could this be diabetes? if not, what could it be?
sorry, i meant to ask if it was only found in people with high blood sugar.

Hypoglycemia is low blood sugar. It’s a precurssor to diabetes.
That almost definitely sounds like hypoglycemia which is a disease were people’s body produces to much insulin, and needs to be controlled. It could also be a kidney infection. Go to the doctors asap
No it doesn’t only happen in people with high blood sugar. There is a condition called hyeprglycemia that happens in people with high blood sugar, and then there is a type called hypoglycemia, which is from lower blood sugar. You should go to the doctor, and ask them to refer you onto get a GTT (glucose tolerance test) this is where you have to drink this orange syrupy drink and then they test you before and after drinking this syrupy drink and see how you are able to manufacture the sugars. There is also a random blood sugar test which is taken after you have eaten and then there is one where they have you fast and eat no food or drink except for water prior to the test. This is usually about 8-10 hours before your test. This is called a glucose fasting test.
Good luck!
Note to Allie~ The one where people produce too much sugar is known as hyperglycemia. Low blood sugar = hypoglycemia.
Sweety diabetes is not only high blood sugar, it can be dangerous for your blood sugar to drop to low. You really need to see a doctor about this, it could save your life.
HyperGLYCERMIA is high blood sugar
Hypoglycermia is low blood sugar
HyperINSULINEMIA is too much insulin
Hypoinsulinemia is not enough insulin

fainting spells can be caused by many things besides low blood sugar,
If you haven’t discussed this with your doctor, you need to.
Low blood sugar can develop into diabetes, depending on the exact cause of the low sugar problem.
“Low blood sugar can develop into diabetes, depending on the exact cause of the low sugar problem.”
Hypoglycemia CAN be a precursor to developing type 2 diabetes much later on, because, just maybe, only a certain total amount of insulin can be produced over a lifetime, so if you produce too much insulin at one time in life, you may not be able to produce enough insulin later on.
Hypoglycemia is a relatively common problem, and is more difficult to control than diabetes, IMHO. See a doctor who knows what he’s doing (not all M.D.s are knowledgeable about blood sugar problems) and get tested
Hypoglycemia can be just as much of a problem for diabetics. I’ve walked myself into low blood sugar more than once.

Check your blood sugar. Avoid sugar.
