It increases your risks of strokes, blood clots etc.
Depending on other risk factors, i.e age, weight, smoking, your Doc may feel it’s too dangerous.
Listen to your doctor. They don’t just drink at med school you know.
Next time you go, ask about the mini-pill, or try the implant.
The mini pill is good, although you have to be very VERY careful about timing.
The implant is great though. One scratch and you’re sorted for 3 years.
No-one else can really know except your doc… as there are many things that can affect descisions like that.
Good luck.
I’m type one diabetic, and on yasmin. There will always be risks no matter what, but as long as you are constantly going to see your doctor, having your routine blood tests done, and watching blood sugars, everything will be fine. The thing that’s probably most worrisome about it is it has a tendency to raise blood sugars because it deals with hormones. When I was first starting it my blood sugars would be a little high, but just adjust for it, and make sure to keep an eye on them.
being diabetic you are already at risk for blood clots, strokes and heart attacks, the pill increases these risks in normal women, why would you wanna double youre chances of these things, i know i wouldnt. ive been on the shot since i was diagnosed with my diabetes, i know some ppl complain of side effects, but i have none and i love the shot. and it doesnt contain hormones similar to the pill so there is no increased risk of blood clots, strokes and such.
