type 2 can be easily controlled with good diet!!!
type 2 can be controlled with diet mostly. it also helps to get some exersize in there also. be there as support and let her know that. Also set some goals together and make it so that she isn’t going it alone. it probly wont hurt you any either. food to help is have a look at a low GI diet/foods and also watch food servings. do it together perhaps
i watched my serving sizes alot closer and slowly lost weight (8kg i think) (if you lose it slowly it wont get put back on as fast)
slim shakes and all that hype arent a good idea
If you really want to help her then there are some things that you can help her or support her.
1. Don’t force her to eat some fatty or sugary good when you were eating together.
2. Try to exercise with her together at the same place on same time. So that you can help her whenever she want something. Heavy exercise is not recommended for diabetes patient, so walking for around 40 mins is good enough.
3. Suggest her to control her diet with low fat and low cabs diet.
This are some ideas that I can suggest you from my experiences.
I recommend you educate yourself about a diabetics life style. That is eating better (healthy) and exercise.
Then share your friend’s life style. For you that means eating better and exercise. Hmmmm, life as a mild health nut and close friendship. Does not sound bad to me.
Think about it.
Best Wishes.
Ash her if she has been tested for Cushing’s syndrome or PCOS.These are diseases that can cause diabetes and obesity.
You can always be a dear friend and help her make good food choices at school. The two of you could make your lunches together and bring in a healthy brown bag lunch.
Maybe tuna, chicken or turkey on wheat with veggies and a piece of fruit ? That is healthy for both of you.You can both drink milk[ low fat] or water rather than regular soda.
Ask your parents to have healthy snacks around so she can come over after school. Some rice cakes, some fresh cut up veggies or some popcorn are good choices. Then the two of you can take a walk, ride bikes or just play outside to get some exercise.
I’m glad she has such a great friend.
Lose the sugar. Eat balanced meals with whole grains at regular times.
EAT HEALTHY FOODS DON’T TAKE HER TO EAT FATTY FOODS LIKE MCDONALD OR ANYTHING GREASY
