a few months or years depending on how much sugar you eat.
Depends. Some children are born with Diabetes so there really is no known fact on how much can cause it.
It depends on your system. My mom has been eating all she can get for 82 years and doesn’t have it. She loves candy and has never been into eating real food all that much. She got low blood sugar about 20-25 years ago and I told her she had it but she said she couldn’t have it she has always eaten lots of candy. The doctor told her no sugar or alcohol until she had an appointment for a blood sugar test and she was well before her appointment. She stayed off sugar and alcohol for a year then rent to Reno and drinks were free so she started eating candy again too.
People don’t get diabetes because they eat too much sugar. That has nothing to do with it. It’s the unhealthy lifestyle that includes poor diet (junk food) that contributes to it.
EMT
I’m a type 1 (insulin dependent) and my diabetes was caused by trauma (abdominal injuries in a car accident…pancreas was ruptured and never recovered). I’ve had diabetes longer than I care to think about.
For type 1 you can’t but type 2 depends on the rest of your diet and level of activity and that was a very ignorant question
EATING TOO MUCH SUGAR DOES NOT CAUSE DIABETES.
Maybe you could google diabetes before you ask such a stupid question then you wouldn’t have to ask it and get diabetics all fired up
There is no food that causes diabetes. If you have a functioning pancreas, you can eat candy and other sweet treats.
You chances of getting diabetes does not depend on the amount of sugar you eat. It has more to do with inherited tendencies, and the fact that we all eat to much junk(processed foods) food and do not exercise enough for the most part
Tyoe 1 diabetes you cannot prevent to this day. Researchers are trying to find a way to prevent it or cure it but haven’t go anything proper in place yet. It is thought that genetics can cause it. People who get tis diabetes usually get it 15 years and under but it is uncommonly seen in up to around 25 years of age…hence it is known as juvenile diabetes.
Type 2 diabetes sn’t necesarrily from eating too much sugar. It is something that is usually seen in middle to late adulthood but is being seen more in younger people due to high sugary foods on our market today. Type 2 diabetes means that the person doesn’t produce enough insulin to cover their foods needs or the insulin they produce is ineffective/poor quality at doing its job (opening body cells to allow the sugar- from food- to enter them to give us energy). It can be caused from “overuse” of insulin production e.g. too much sugar in the diet, but other factors such as genetics, excess weight (strain on the body’s organs) or trauma/injury to the pancreas-which makes insulin.
There is also gestational diabetes which happens in pregnant women and their bodies are uable to cope wih insulin demands of the baby or the insulin becomes ineffective at this time due to the strain on the body. Often it goes away once the baby is born but sometimes it stays and is then referred to as type 2 diabetes (as explaned above)
Generally type 2 diabetes from eating foods high in sugar/having a generally bad diet is something that slowly develops over time. It is mainly seen in adults but has started to show in some teens and children as we have a diet problem in western society. It’s not good to just blame people who have type 2 diabetes and say that it’s there own fault because it isn’t necessarily.
I have type 1 and due to lack of understanding by the public about diabetes people have said hurtful things about how i could have stopped having it…well i couldn’t. I got it when i was 13 and a very active, fit person who my parents had always taught to eat well! I am glad you asked this question to find out more information. We need more people like you to be willing to learn about this National Health Priority Area
It varies between a persons body. People with poor bodies will have a greaer chance of diabetes than those with healthy bodies
Never.
Eating sugar does not cause diabtes. In fact, there is NO FOOD that causes diabetes.
HOWEVER, eating too much sugar WILL make you fat, and THAT will cause diabetes.
sugar can absolutly never ever give you diabetes! i am one. i got i when i was 8 and i used to eat healthy (still do) like salads and wheat bread
