not nessacarily. anyone can get it. If someone in ur family has it, ur more likely to get it. Just try to eat healthy. You’ll be fine.
you can get diabetes when your 5 its because you don’t produce enough insulin insulin separates good carbs from bad and if you don’t work out after eating a lot of sugar chances are you Will get diabetes.
fat, not fat = nothing to do with diabetes
read up on the disease, it is when the body can’t use the natural sugar produced by the body – that becomes poison to the body
No it does not mean that you will become Diabetic but too much sugar is never good for you. Being active is good and you may want to think about eating snacks that healthy for you. Starting good eating habits when you are young will benefit as you get older.
Diabetes is diagnosed when a person’s body cannot synthesize the insulin the body produces. Insulin breaks down the sugar in your body. There are many forms of Diabetes. Type one is usually diagonsed at birth or shortly after. Type two is diagnosed later on in life when someone’s body weight increases and your body’s insulin can no longer synthesize the sugar ingested in the added weight. Your insulin level is determined in the womb. A person’s weight and fat content are determed long before you are born. Therefore if your insulin levels are insufficient or your body weight increases enough to where your in-born insulin can no longer synthesize suger…diabetes forms. There is also a newer form of dibates (type 1 1/2) that is more common in teens and is a form of type one and type 2 two together.
There are 2 types of diabetes, types I and II.
Type I occurs in childhood or early adulthood and is when the body doesn’t make insulin. Type II usually occurs in adults, mostly in those that are overweight or obese. There has been a rise in children with type II diabetes in the last few years due to obesity, likely from eating to much fast food and sodas. People with type II diabetes don’t make enough insulin or they are resistant to it. Type II diabetes can be hereditary, but you can prevent it by eating healthier.
another question about eating too much sugar causing diabetes….GREAT! (sarcasm)
eating too much sugar does NOT cause diabetes! eating too much sugar will eventually make u fat. being fat is one of the main factors in developing type 2, which is usually found in adults.
if you develop diabetes now it will most likely be type 1 because your only 12 and type 1 is usually found in young people (under the age of 20). with type 1, your weight has absolutley nothing to do with whether or not you’ll develop it. there is no way to prevent yourself from type 1 diabetes. i believe most type 1′s are thin. i also believe type 1 is hereditary (just my opinion…theres people who dont think thats true.)
Okay…here we go…
Yes, thin people can and do develop diabetes. I’m thin and I’ve had it for years…but I’m a lot older than you are. I have type 1, which means I’m insulin dependent.
Overweight people can and do get it too. It’s just a little different from the kind I have. Type 2 diabetes tend to develop later in life and has a lot to do with being overweight, not getting any or enough exercise and not eating healthy. However, in the past several years, there has been an increase of type 2 developing in younger children because of bad eating and exercise habits and weight gain. This type can usually be controlled with diet, exercise, medications and sometimes with insulin.
Eating too much sugar does not cause diabetes. It does, however, lead to unhealthy habits that can in turn lead to diabetes. Even if you are thin and healthy, you still need to eat correctly and eating too much sugar is bad for you in general.
Does that answer your question?
EMT
Just because you are thin, doesn’t mean that you can’t get diabetes. Diabetes is a condition that is about insulin production levels in your body.
What is however true is that obesity is linked to a higher chance of having diabetes.
Don’t worry so much, but cool it with sugar, as anyone should. Most people don’t just get diabetes without family history, and if you get Type 1, it’s not your fault.
no!too much of anything gud 4 nothing!if 1 ur family member ‘ve diabetes u ‘ve the chanche 2 get.but it may lead to some other thing!be careful!
Eating sugar does not cause diabetes.
Please ignore the guy above me promoting a very dangerous scam cure.
Yes. I was very thin when I was diagnosed with diabetes, but it was Type I, not Type II. Being overweight can definitely lead to Type II diabetes, but the disease can affect anyone of any age, weight, or race.
Well, to answer your first question can you get diabetes if you are not fat?, yes. My brother has diabetes and he is knowhere near being fat. A lot of sugar is never good for you, but being active is great. And you can only tell if you have diabetes by symptoms like always drinking but still feeling dryed out, and using the bathroom a lot. If you have some symptoms, share that with your parents. You can have a simple blood test taken to find out. It’s a very serious disease.
