We have questioned and observed at least 6 parents who have their young children (one as young as 3 years old) following his protocols and visiting his office. Their kid’s are doing remarkably well. Our own daughter has seen her A1C drop from 11 to 6.5 since we have tried to implement some of the tenets of his regimen. He also is a type 1 Diabetic himself and during his 40+ years of practicing he has a myriad of testimonies to back up his claims. These are a few reasons why we are doing this.
First, you have a beautiful family. I’m not sure why you believe Dr. Bernstein has the answer for you. How many children has Dr. Bernstein treated? I would not put a growing child on a carbohydrate restricted diet. If you are giving 5 shots per day, you should be able to give your daughter a well balanced diet and get reasonable control. Charla will still have high and low blood glucose levels even if you follow Dr. Bernstein’s protocol.
