I’ve been told that they would tell if you’re hypo or hyperglycemic but I don’t understand that because isn’t type 2 DM when you have high blood glucose levels? Where does the hypoglycemic part come in?

When you have type 1 diabetes, why does it matter if your blood sugar is high? What happens if you don’tt treat diabetes? What happens if you don’t take the shots or watch what you eat? Do you die?

Yes, actually, a persistent state of high sugar can eventually lead to organ failure, blindness and gangrene. The shots are the hormone that help the body breakdown and elimiate sugars.

I’m thirteen years old almost fourteen i have had diabetes since i was eight years old. I still haven’t started my period. My mom says its proably because i have diabetes. When you have type 1 you have to take insulin which is a hormone. So she says it can affect all of my other hormones and my growth. But im really wondering is this true?

If there is no other sign exept high blood sugar levels, can that be type 2 diabetes? Is it necesary to have some clinical symptoms at all in such case?

I had no clinical symptoms. I’m not and wasn’t overweight and showed no symptoms whatsoever.
I was diagnosed only because I took a blood sugar test just to be taking one. Imagine my surprise when the numbers came out insanely high.
So yes, you may not show symptoms in the beginning and still be diabetic. Please don’t wait for symptoms to manifest themselves before you go see a doctor. The consequences are not good.

I don’t have diabetes but, according to questions I answered on the Prevention website this would be one of the diets that I could benefit from to lose weight and – especially – belly fat.

Why do you think so many more people are being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in recent years than ever before? One of my guesses is all of the preservatives and junk that has been included in people’s diets as more prepared foods have been in the markets, and fast foods.
