Is This Eye Problem Part of Having Type 2 Diabetes?

type 2 diabetes

Question posed by themorbidhippie: Is this eye problem part of having type 2 diabetes?
Lately I have been getting sharp pains that feel like they’re coming from the inside of my eye, or like from my top eyelid. The pain lasts for about 10 minutes, my eye twitches uncontrollably, then after 10 minutes it’s just fine.

Is this caused by having type 2 diabetes? Is it stress? or could it be something else?
I do follow my diet very strictly now, but I do not take the pills the same time every day .. I will start doing that as well

The No 1 answer:

Answer by Ritarose
Yes this can be part of your type 2 diabetes and I have the sharp pains as well. I wonder if you are taking your medications on time, the same time every day and are you careful to follow the diabetic diet so you do not eat to many carbs or sugars? If you don’t eat right you will continue to have these and more serious problems. Could cause you to go blind if you don’t take it all seriously. Be good to yourself.

diabetes

A question asked by Hillari Krull: My sororitys philanthropy is diabetes research and we are trying to think of a craft that relates any ideas?
My sorority is doing a philanthropy night during recruitment and we want to do a craft or activity that relates to our philanthropy which is diabetes research and awareness. Does any one have any idea oof what we could do?

The No 1 answer:

Answer by pattiann42
Not quite following your reasoning – individuals with diabetes are perfectly capable of crafts and any other activity, depending on one’s physical ability.

I would disallow anything to do with ingesting large quantities of carbohydrates.

diabetes

A question asked by S: What else besides diabetes would cause glucose to show up in urinalysis?
My doc used urinalysis to diagnose a urinary tract infection and she mentioned that glucose was also present. I will go back for blood tests. I do have a family history of diabetes. So I borrowed my father’s glucose meter and tested my blood –glucose level was only 99, which is not in the diabetic range.

Selected answer:

Answer by Gary B
The kidney infection (in fact, ANY infection) WILL cause you blood sugars to be high, and THAT could have caused the sugar to spill into your urine,

This is NOT a problem — UNLESS it continues after the kidney infection is healed.

You doctor will do ANOTHER urine test before you are “released” as being “well”,. IF the sugar STILL shows up then, you have other problems to look into.

I came across this video about diabetes diet the other day and thought that you might find it interesting.

Maintaining a normal sugar level in your body is the main goal for every diabetic. If they let their sugar level get too high by eating some cheat sweet foods over a long time without trying to get it back to a normal level, major health problems can and will appear with their eyes, heart, nerves, and kidneys. So once a diabetic finds himself/herself in this position of having too sugar in his/her blood, he/she needs to find some natural ways to bring it back down. As I stated in my previous article, there are some great and natural ways for a diabetic to lower their blood sugar level. These methods were drinking water, cinnamon, exercising, ginseng, and apple cider vinegar. Now here are 5 further natural approaches you can incorporate into your daily meals to help you lower your blood sugar. To Learn More About Diabetic Diets, Visit: www.diabeticdietsreview.com

diabetes

Question posed by shengfng: What kind of food should an old person with diabetes eat?
My Dad has diabetes and all he does is sleep in bed all day everyday. He needs help to go to the toilet and changes his mood every second. His eyes always get swollen and he is super thin! I don’t know what food to make for him since he can’t have oil, fat, and fried foods! I don’t know what to do!

Top answer:

Answer by Jay S
The thing to do is to get him moving. He needs to walk at least 45 minutes a day. For diet, think green. Broccoli, spinach, cabbage, kale, salads. Add skinless broiled chicken or fish for protein. Turkey is also good. For bread, stick with brown. Avoid the white foods (white bread, potatoes). Take it easy. You will get through this.

He sounds like he is also depressed.

diabetes diet

A question asked by psnerd: Is there a simple diet out there for Type II diabetes?
I don’t get to sit down to a meal everyday like normal people and I don’t have time to sort through all the exchange crap! Is there a simple diet out there that I can use to pick my food without going through all of that? Looking at between 1500 to 2000 calories a day. Thanks!
