Dude, diabetes isn’t infectious, nor gross.
She will feel for you, and she will support you.
Unless she’s a cruel wench.

It is safe, in fact it’s a lot more healthier than eating three big meals in a day.

Q&A: Why Does Type 2 Diabetes Cause Weight Gain?

type 2 diabetes

Question by Erin: Why does type 2 diabetes cause weight gain?
I have just been diagnosed with type 2 but am at a healthy weight. A lot of what I have been reading cites weight gain as a symptom of diabetes but I can’t understand why (if your cells aren’t getting enough energy, they break down fat = weight loss??). Is it because it increases your appetite? Or is it not a symptom, but a cause?

If anyone could clear this up for me please?

Weight loss is symptom of diabetes, not weight gain. Overweight people have higher chance of developing type 2 diabetes, maybe that is what you are thinking of.

Hi, How does a doctor decide if a person with TYPE 2 diabetes requires insulin tablets or just a healthy regime (exercise/ diet) to control it? Thanks :)

type 1 diabetes

Question by Lisset F: We just found out my 4 year old has type 1 diabetes. Should I be worried about my 8 month old having it too?
3 months after having my 2nd son we found out that my 4 year old had type 1 diabetes. I don’t know if I should be worried about my 8 month old having type 1 diabetes too? I really hope not, but if anyone could help it would be great.

What I’ve heard is that siblings of type 1′s have a 5% chance of also developing it. There are many cases of identical twins where one gets it and the other doesn’t, so it isn’t completely hereditary. So you should watch for it … but the chances are good that your baby won’t have it, so don’t worry.

At least you know what to watch for. I know when my daughter was diagnosed I was amazed … I had no idea what was wrong with her.

Take care … please feel free to email me for anything!

My husband is type 2 and he is only 45 years old and they have him on so many meds for his condition. I am afraid he is going to wind up dying from overmedication like his grandmother did. She was also type 2 and on too many meds and her heart just gave out one day. I feel that the doctor is just dosing him because of the pharmaceutical companies give them a kickback prescribing these drugs. Serious answers only please.
Here’s the thing: I have taken cinnamon for years and I only need to take supplements(multi vitamin, garlic(fresh and pill form), flaxseed, B complex, etc.) for my health. Diabetes does run in my family also and I am 50 lbs. overweight. I never believed in prescription meds. I feel there is a holistic approach to this without the risk of overmedicating and contraindications.
And I go for yearly checkups and they find everything in order.
